How beautiful today is.. Aries thought, lying lazily in the shade of a tree. A week had passed since that freak incident where she met Sergeeant, her brother. They'd grown much closer since then, though she sensed he was having slight adjustment problems with living in the clanlands.

By now, her sides were bulging to the extreme, and she expected her eggs to be lain any day now. She might even be a day or two late. Zil'caron was now even more protective, though he tried hard not to smother her. She loved him for it, but she needed a break from the den, and so had gone outside, resting under an oak.

She was entirely at peace with herself. The past few weeks, due to the pregnancy, she'd lost all wish and tendency of snapping or talking back, something she'd seldom done before anyway. It was as if she was in a state of norvana, a vblissful trance..

Alara flew over the Tree of Life, enjoying the say as best as she could. Finn was probably enjoying himself somewhere else, because he had left the den earlier than she had. He was probably hunting, and didn't want to bother her while she was still sleeping. It was fine with her. She'd catch up with him later. But there was something else that was pressing on her mind. Aries, a very good friend of hers, was pregnant and still hadn't given birth to her eggs yet.

With that, the familiar scent of the white dragoness filled Alara's nostrils. Maybe she could hang out with her today instead of being lazy elsewhere. She changed direction in her flight, heading towards the scent. Her eyes scanned the area below, until she noticed the white dragoness below under an oak tree.

Alara smiled, descending toward the ground. It felt like she had been carrying a heavier load with her wings. Her abdominal area seemed to be growing, and she wasn't entirely sure if she was eating too much with not much excersise, or a different matter; eggs. She would find out sooner or later.

She landed, walking up to Aries. She noticed her bulging stomach, her curiosity growing more. Alara sat next to Aries, enjoying the shade of the tree. It's a nice day, isn't it? By the way, I hope your eggs are doing fine.[\b]

Sergeant was wheeling lazily through the sky, trying to find or think of something to do. He had recently escaped from a dragoness who seemed to chatter on incessantly. The conversation had started innocently enough; a simple greeting and a comment about the nice weather, to which Sergeant, attempting to be polite and social, had responded to. Things quickly went downhill from there, as the dragoness started to ramble on about her life, and how normal it was, and how her son had just started flying, and all sorts of things that Sergeant had absolutely no interest in. He had smiled nervously, trying to find a way out without being an ass, but none presented themselves. Eventually, he made up something about his sister having her eggs, to which the dragoness had paused for a moment, eyes wide. It was only a moment, and she immediately started chatting again, but the moment was all it took for Sergeant to fly off.

Presently, he saw Aries relaxing at the base of a tree. He smiled and angled down to land near her. He had met Aries a week ago, and on the day they met, they realized they were siblings. To Sergeant, it was a shock, but a happy shock. He had a family now, and was no longer a loner, with no one to turn to or trust. They had grown close to each other in that one week, not quite as if they had known each other since birth, but it was reasonably close. He had yet to meet Aries's mate though, an event he was somewhat unsure about.

Before he reached Aries, however, a light blue dragoness flew past underneath him and landed near his sister, saying hello. Sergeant stopped his dive and leveled out, circling above, and inspecting the newcomer. He hesitated, not sure if he was up to meeting another clan dragon that day, before shrugging his shoulders, pitching into a dive, and folding his wings in, causing him to drop like a rock. Just before he went splat against the ground, he snapped his wings open and slammed into the earth feet first with a thud, kicking up some dust. He let the dust clear a little before folding his wings and moving over near Aries.

Hey, Sis, Sergeant said, reaching his neck out and nuzzling her briefly, then looked at the light blue dragoness, and said, Who's this?

Aries opened an eye lazily as she felt the air pressure change around her and smiled softly as Alara landed close by her, lying down too. The two dragonesses had made up in the end, after she returned from Kukiron, when her mind and heart had healed. She bore her no grudgeand, in the state she was, she couldn't bear one even if she'd wanted to.

Yes, it's a very nice day.. The clouds are so beautiful.. They're doing fine, Alara.. Thank you/.. she told her softly in a dreamy voice. It wasn't her being distant on purpose; she just had her head in the clouds.

When Sarge landed, she opened the other eye and gave him a beautifully tranquil smile. Hey bro.. This is Alara, a fear friend of mine.. she explained genially and carefully got onto her stomach, reaching out to lick him lovingly. She then turned to Alara.

Alara, this is my brother Sergeant. Sarge for short. How I suddenly acquired a brother..? Sarge, why don't you..? she suggested.

Aries spoke dreamily to Alara. That brought back the fude between them, which put Alara in a dreadful state. Without Finn, she would have killed herself, or died in the first place from the sickness. Without him, she would still be crazed, in that terrible state of mind. Even though she was away from the pain, she would be lost in her body and mind forever. It took quite a while to recooperate from the scene, even though it was rather pathetic. Alara stared at the ground, remembering it all.

But she looked up as another prescence came, to which a dragon landed. Alara had never seen him before in her life, although he resembled someone she knew. Alara looked at Aries and back to the dragon, noticing the faint resemblance. Her mouth dropped slightly at the sight. Aries had never spoken about siblings other than Sil, but they weren't blood related.

Aries introduced him, to which his name was Sarge. Alara smiled in a friendly manner as she gave Sarge a lick. She asked Sarge to explain. She wasn't sure what to say at the moment, so she let Sarge continue without interruption.

Sergeant stared steadily at the light blue dragoness, who Aries identified as Alara, as his sister introduced the two of them. He blinked and looked at Aries as she suggested that he explain how they had found each other. He stared at her for a moment, as if asking if he had to, before sighing and looking at Alara again.

Our parents had me, then had Aries about four years later. Mother left Aries's egg with a Caretaker, before returning to my father. Good thing she did, because my father killed my mother when he realized I was a runt. I managed to get away. Wandered around, lived with some humans for a bout 5 years, watched their town burn to the ground, then wandered into Clanlands and met Aries. Her caretaker must have taken her to clan lands. She seemed nice enough, invited me to Juthivar lands, we talked, found out we were siblings.

Sergeant had said it with the same stoic expression and nearly flat voice as last time. But the pain was there again, and if one looked hard enough, they could see it in his eyes.

High on hormones or not, Aries noticed his pain and immediately regretted it. Her moods had been copletely unpredictable as of late, which had really exasperated Zil'caron to some extent, though she i help it. She reached over and licked his face again, whimpering in concern and regret.

Yes..It was ompletely out of the blue.. But the nicest surprise of my life.. I'm so happy to have you with me, Sarge.. she said softly, distantly, her silver eyes sparkling. She was no longer very comfortable, and got up, shaking herself slightly before lying down again on her side. Her bubble of bliss had broken, though she was still detached, her mind in a dilly-dream. It was why she was ignoring her symptoms.

It had been a good bit since that scare that took place about a month ago. Aries, Finn, and Alara all getting together like they had, it wasn't good. Things had been getting better though and Aries and Alara were talking again. Zil'caron didn't talk much to Fin though. He doubted that Finn wanted to talk to him either though as in his eyes, He stole Aries from him. He lifted his head to notice that Aries had left the den, and with the eggs being so close to being due, it made him a little worried. He thought back to when her sister Silvera had laid not that long ago, and what she went through afterward. He wasn't sure if he could do that again, and he'd much rather not have to find out the hard way.

He pushed himself into the skies and flew around the valley for a bit until he spotted her with Alara. A smile came across his face. At least they were talking again, which was a good thing. He also saw another dragon with her, and one that she was quite friendly with. He had heard her mention something of a brother in the den over the last few weeks so thought that maybe this was him. He started to decline in a gentle descent and brought himself to a soft landing just behind Aries who he could tell by looking at her, wasn't completely there. He wasn't going to say anything about it though at the moment, but knew that something was about to happen. Hello Alara, it's nice to see the two of you have made up and are talking again. he told her with a smile turning to the other dragon. So you must be the brother that Aries was talking about? I'm Zil'caron, her mate and soon to be father of her eggs.[/color he said dipping his head in respect.

Alara listened to Sarge explain, and seeing the hurt in his eyes when he spoke. But he was already speaking, and she didn't want to interrupt him. Aries seemed to see his pain, so they went along in pain, or so the two of them did. But all Alara could do was nod her head.

Soon, not much later, Zil landed and cane over to them. There was a smile on his face when he saw Aries and Alara talking. She didn't blame him for feeling relieved. It was probably a relief, knowing they weren't ganna go at each other's throats anytime soon. It was fine with Alara for him to feel that way.

Im happy we're talking again. I never thought we'd be cool with each other again. She spoke lightly, and in a soft tone. She had quite a bit of mood swings lately. She was probably making Finn awkward with them, but she hoped it wasn't permanant.

Sergeant turned his head and watched coolly as a black and gold dragon landed behind Aries. He greeted Aries and Alara, noting he was glad they were on speaking terms. Alara had mentioned something similar moments later, and it piqued Sergeant's curiosity of the matter. He didn't press for details, though. He didn't know Alara or the newcomer, though he guessed the male was Aries's mate, and he didn't want to bother Aries.

The black and gold male looked at Sergeant with a smile and introduced himself as Zil'Caron, and confirmed his suspicions of him being Aries's mate. Sergeant examined Zil for a moment with a critical eye, noting his stance, expression, and tone of voice, before dipping his head in return.

A pleasure, Sergeant replied, if a little stiffly, My name is Sergeant, if Aries hasn't told you already.

At the thought of his sister, he glanced back at her, noticing her discomfort as well as her distant, heady expression. She had mentioned that she was close to laying, and Sergeant was concerned for her. He was slightly anxious for the whole ordeal to pass. He had heard stories of pregnant dragonesses dying , before, during, or after the egg-laying, and could not bear the thought of losing his sister so soon after finding her.

Aries, are you alright? he asked gently, Perhaps you would like some water?

Just when Aries thought the three of them could just lie in the shade companionably, another dragon showed up; Zil'caron, come to check up on her, no doubt. She didn't resent him. On the contrary, she smiled at him lovingly and stretched her head out to him to nuzzle him and lick his snout.

She glanced at Sarge and saw his stiff, guarded manner, and hoped dreamily the two would work things out. She'd hate them fighting. It's hard, when you love two people, to bear them hating each other.

I have told him about you. Aries told Sarge, smiling. Quite hard not to! She sighed then and got up again, walking another tight circle around the group, restless. And about me and Alara.. I'll explain some other day. she added, talking to Sarge, but looking at the young dragoness she'd recently made up with.

To be honest, Alara, I didn't think we'd reconciliate so easily, but.. I'm glad we did. she told her honestly and as she passed her, she licked her on the cheek. I abhore fighting with friends in particular, and you I always counted as one. she stated, then glanced from between the three.

I'm alright, Sarge.. No need to worry.. she said, but her slightly breathless tone wasn't the most reassuring she could pull off. Her muscles were tensing up, giving her relief only when she was constantly on the move, and it was irritating her beyond belief. Her tail was raised slightly, as if on the offensive, but she wasn't stalking anything. Her ears were gradually dipping backwards, as if playing agressively, and her step was high, as if prancing. She didn't realize she was giving out confused messages with her body language, though.

You seem tense. she told Alara ironically enough, ignoring her own symptoms. Are you alright? You don't seem very happy right now.

As she passed Zil'caron again, she licked his flank, tracing it with her snout until she went past, then licked Sarge's cheek.

When Aries said something to Sarge about them, Alara looked at the ground again. At least they weren't going to do this now. But Aries got up, starting to walk around them. Alara's eyes trained on Aries, making sure she was okay in her state. If she was in that pain, maybe they eggs weren't long behind. Alara knew healing and was quite good at it. If Aries needed any help, Alara was there for her. She asked why Alara looked so tense and unhappy.

Alara chuckled at that realization. It was probably obvious with her jittery muscles. She wasn't sure why, but moving around like Aries was sounded like a great idea. But if she walked around them, she'd look pretty weird. So, she decided to tough it out instead.

Either I'm crazy, or there's something else going on inside me that I don't know about. It's probably nothing. Maybe something I ate. Alara fidgeted on the grass, trying to find a better position. If she was active, she'd soon grow exhausted and crash in her den. Sleep sounded great. Everything sounded great at the moment. What was going on with her?

(hey, you skipped me, Ah well, no worries, gives me more to work off of. Oh, and I may bring Sil into this in my next post, as she should be present when her sister lays her eggs.)

Zil'caron looked at the dragon called Sarge and nodded, Indeed Aries had mentioned something about her brother, in that case I'm sure that you also know that she is not blood sister to the alphess Silvera or has she not told you that yet? he said wondering if he had said something that he shouldn't. Ah well, she would just berate him later on the issue if it was something she wanted to keep hidden, although it would be confusing to him as to why.

He couldn't help but let out a chuckle as Aries started trying to walk around, He knew that she was hurting and that it wasn't really funny but just the sight of her. He moved over to her. Honey, take it easy, I would like to have you safely back at our den tonight rather than the infirmary. he told her half joking. He loved her a lot, and would go to any lengths to make sure that didn't happen. He could smell Aries's scent starting to change, but didn't think anything of it, for all he knew on of the others around him could have broke wind, although it didn't smell quite like that.

When Alara spoke that there was something going on inside of her that she didn't know about, it attracted Zil'caron's attention. When she suggesting that it was something that she ate, Zil almost bought it, until he noticed something else. Alara, you've seen to have grown a bit. I don't know how things have been going, but I don't remember you looking like that a few weeks ago. He said smiling. He had a firm idea about it, but wasn't sure. He had pretty much known about her and Finn since the feud, and he knew that it was probably what sparked it.

She may not have come out and said it then, but then why trick Finn into doing it? Ah, you're worrying yourself over stupid shit, that happened already and is done with, don't bring old pains back up. he thought watching Aries very carefully. He remembered last time Aries started getting like this, and it wasn't good. At least there where home this time where he could fly up real quick and get Silvera if things started to get bad. Silvera was just as good a healer as Aries was, if not maybe a bit better, but she was the alphess, and so for a reason. When she told Sarge that she was fine though, Zil'caron heard a bit if raps in her tone, meaning she was short of breath.

Aries, I know that it may feel better to be moving around, but I think you should lay down, something isn't right I don't feel, you're acting funny again... he said in a more concerned tone now. If there was something wrong, he wanted to know so he could get it taken care of.

Sergeant watched Aries carefully as she circled around them restlessly. He chuckled as Aries licked his cheek, but still watched her with concern. She seemed odd, not herself.

When Zil'caron mentioned something about a sister to Silvera, Sergeant perked his head up with interest, then looked to Aries and gave her a questioning glance. Aries had not told him about another sibling, though Zil'caron had said "now blood." He supposed that meant Aries had a sister-in-law, as humans put it. The prospect of another sister was somewhat exciting, and he would like to meet any member of his family, though he wasn't sure he'd be as close to to anyone else as he was to Aries.

Sergeant mostly ignored Zil'caron's comment to Alara; he glanced at her, but he had no basis to judge her appearance to. He did, however, scrutinize Aries more as Zil'caron advised her to lay down.

Zil's right, Sarge said to her, You don't look to steady there, and you do seem a little off.

She must be close to laying, Sarge thought, still watching his sister carefully. This would be interesting indeed, though Sergeant was still worried for his sister's well being.

Aries chuckled wryly as Alara said that. Indeed, there was something inside her, but she hadn't realized yet. Zil's words made her think he guessed as well. She was happy, happy that Alara could share that joy with her when she, too, had her young.

Yes.. I agree with Zil'caron. she smiled softly, on another round. You've filled out over the past few weeks, and I doubt it's from eating too much. You were always so slim. Finn might have had something to do with it. she teased gently, before Zil caught her attention. Again, she licked him as she passed, thinking he worried too much.

You won't have to take me to the infirmary, Zil'caron. she told him tenderly. I.. I need to move.. I just.. She drifted off and shook her head, dipping it to rub it against the grass.

I'd have told you about Silvera soon, Sarge.. she told him, in a tone as if begging for his forgiveness. When she looked up, her silver eyes were abruptly clouded with welled-up tears. She was trembling as she stood, having ceased her pacing, tail slightly raised. I'm sorry Sarge.. she mewed softly, then looked to the side, hiding her face from them. Hormones were making her moody, and the slightest thing could unbalance her little bubble of bliss. Her body wasn't helping, hgiving her the tension she had in her muscles, then growing nausea.

it was a good thing Alara was there, really. They were in for a long day and night.[/b]

Zil had explained somewhat of his thoughts, to which Alara only smiled a bit. It was true, though. She hadn't been this round before she and Finn had mated, but could her relationship with him changed her figure? Her stomach was pretty big, and not really "fatty", so maybe they were right. What was Finn thinking about this? Aries said how Finn might have to do with it, and Alara chuckled. It was true. Maybe she was pregnant. But was she ready to deal with a litter of young quite so early? Either way, she'd have to go through it sometime in her life if her relationship was intimate with Finn. Where was he, by the way?

Aries was still walking around, seeming to grow uncomfortable. She wasn't acting normal, even during her pregnancy before this day. Maybe the birthing was approaching. The due date was anytime now, possbly late. Even the others were noticing it, and telling her to lie down and rest. Was this what being in labor was like? All the discomfort and pain? Alara was growing sick to her stomach. If she was pregnant, which she probably was, she would have to go through the same stuff that Aries was going through. All those stories of the mother dying filtered into her head. She didn't want to die.

Aries was growing emotional again, with the tears in her eyes as she turned away. She started to look queasy from the looks of it, so with her healing, Alara tried to settle Aries's stomach. It may have helped a bit, but she would have to save her strength for later if the birthing was near. At that point, Aries would be in immense pain. Aries would just have to pull through until the labor.

If you are feeling pain, just tell me and I'll try to help. It's the least I can do. Alara got up, feeling her legs aching as she stood up with the weight in her stomach. This was quite a lot. There was no doubt in her mind that she was pregnant.

(Just so there is no confusion, Nicara's Speech is the bolded Silver, and Silvera's is the light blue.)

Silvera lifted her head from inside of her den with a small smile. After the long scare from from going so long after not hatching, it was nice to see that all three of their eggs had hatched. Nicara, Kelron, and Thorac all laying in their little nests. Nicara was the first to wake up, and make her way out of the nest that she was laying in. All the memory transfers were done correctly so it meant that all three of them were capable of flying if not for very long though, and she didn't trust them flying from this high above the ground yet. Mommy, I'm hungry... she heard her little one tell her. She arched down and gave her a gentle lick along the side of her tiny neck and snout. Okay sweetie, Your father should be able to watch over your brothers a bit, why don't we go spend some time together? she suggested letting Nicara climb up onto her back.

Silvera gently pushed herself from her den and started her decent. As she did, she spotted Aries, and some others with her, and wondered what was going on. She banked towards her, and Nicara took notice, mother why are we going that way? there won't be much food around the others.

there will be more around than you think, there's a berry tree right next to them, and I think you'd like how sugary they are.

Okay, I'll try them she heard her daughter reply as they landed, Nicara gliding off of her mothers back onto the ground. She heard just enough to know that something was indeed not right. She caught the bit of Alara's comment to Aries that if she was feeling pain, to let her know, and when Aries's scent reached her, Silvera knew immediately what was going on. How is everyone holding up? she asked looking around at everyone noting that Alara as well was a bit larger than the last time she had seen her.

Zil'caron kept himself as calm as he could through what was occurring. The last thing he wanted as for something to happen though, and it was a constant worry for him right now since the incident in the desert. He could tell that she was very moody as well, she went from being happy for Alara to being almost in tears when she apologized to Sarge for not having a chance to mention Silvera.

Almost as if it were on cue, Silvera herself landed here, and one of her young was with her as well. Zil'caron could do nothing but smile for her, happy that they didn't have to go through losing their clutch, and a bit worried now that something similar could happen to theirs. He could only hope that their offspring would be as beautiful as hers though, Nicara was about as gorgeous as he had seen with her brilliant scales, and the way they shined. He knew that once she was older, she would have a struggle keeping males off of her.

He then turned to Silvera after she asked how everyone was doing, he answered, We're a bit concerned for Aries, we think that she's starting to go into labor, but she's telling everyone that she's fine, but she's having difficulty both walking and standing still. I'm not sure what to think, I just don't want it to turn into the desert again. he told her as she nodded taking of for a second to slice a branch of fruit of for Nicara to eat, bringing it down resting it in front of her.

She'll be fine, there are three healers here counting herself. I can promise you that nothing will go wrong. she told them turning back to Aries waiting to see what she would do next.

Sarge raised his eyebrow when Aries said she should have told him about Silvera earlier, in a tone that was as if she was begging him for forgiveness. He didn't know if forgetting about things was a terrible offense in the Juthivar clan. Sergeant himself didn't mind at all.

Sergeant furrowed his eyebrows in concern when she saw Aries's eyes well up with tears, apparently from guilt, and saw her tremble where she stood. She mewed a soft apology, and hid her face from him, ashamed for no reason.

Hey, no big deal, Sergeant said, not sure whether to note that she was overreacting to something little, It's no big deal, no need to cry.

A moment later, a larger silver dragoness landed nearby, with a small hatching in tow. She asked how everyone was holding up, to which Zil'caron responded, telling her about his concern for Aries's condition. Sergeant shared his concern, but he didn't know the silver dragoness, though he suspected this was Silvera. He stayed silent, looking at her for a moment, before turning his eyes back to Aries. She was still looking away as if ashamed, and he stepped forward, nuzzling her.

Don't worry about it, I'm not mad or anything, he said, Come on now, chin up.

Alright. Aries replied softly to her brother, looking up and giving him a faint smile. The way she was holding herself made her look like a sad puppy hopefully looking for forgiveness. When she saw Silvera and her little niece, she brightened up, though, and immediately forgot what was causing her so much heartache just a moment ago.

I'm.. not in pain, exactly Alara. she reassured the young dragoness, smiling. But thanks for your offer. I'll take you upon it if pain does well up. she assured her, turning to look steadily at her sister. With Silvera there, she looked more alert, as if daring her to challenge her.

Hey Sil. Sarge, this is Silvera, and Silvera, Sergeant. it's a long story. she shrugged and carefully lay down next to Zil'caron, her paws and tail twitching almost incessantly. She licked her lips, feeling as if her mouth was drying up. Alara had helped her nausea, but not by much. She felt as if her stomach was being pumped up like a balloon that was ready to burst.

it woke her up a little more, and she shuddered.

Silvera, you should take Nicara back with you. she said in a soft voice, that was nevertheless the steadiest and most sane of that day. Her eyes weren't dreamy so much as paained and restless, yet serious. I'm going to be ill in a few minutes, and she shouldn't be here for whatever followes. At the very least ask Zir'con to retrieve her. she added, then turned to look at Alara, giving her a knowing look. She was almost completely awake now, and she turned to Zil'caron and Sergeant. You two, I'm very sorry. she apologized again, but with no tears. Alara, Silvera and I should return to our den, Zil. it would be best if you stayed here.

With that, she gave a shudder that rippled through her entire body and shot up, dashing into the bushes to empty her stomach; a reflec that was brought on by the labour. She also relieved herself, so as not to make too much of a mess later. Returning to the group, she looked somewhat unsteady, but still in one piece. Her steps were no longer steady, but off balance, as if she were half-drunk.

I'm going into labour. she said softly, as if it wasn't obvious enough, and shuddered again as a spasm of pain shook her. lets go back inside. she said, her voice acquiring a breathless quality to it.

Alara watched as Silvera landed nearby. The silver dragoness had a youngling upon her back, to which Alara hadn't met the aquantence of. She looked young, maybe able to fly. But the youngling went off to munch on some berries. Aries spoke, and looked to be very uncomfortable, swaying in her step and being off balance. Alara walked over to her, in case she needed help, but was surprised when she told Alara to come to the den with her and her sister. The boys were told to stay. Alara thought maybe at least Zil would come for comfort, but that wasn't the case.

Walking over to Aries, Alara nudged her neck with her snout, saying she was ready. The dragonesses took to the sky, heading to the dens of the Tree of Life. It took a while, because Aries was trying to keep aloft. It was probably hard flying when you're in labor. Alara would take that into note. No flying when you're in labor, no matter what. Although privacy was a big thing for Alara. It would just come to luck with the place she would be at. Where was Finn?

They arrived in Aries and Zil's den. Alara landed inside first, and made sure Aries could land easily. Alara made sure the bed she had was comfy and warm for what was to come. The eggs would have to be placed somewhere warm, and Aries would need to be comfortable, or they wouldn't get anywhere in this labor.

She warmed the bed up with her warm breath, hoping it was all right for Aries.
