Aries licked his cheek, then felt something slightly touch her scales and realized what it was. A shiver of desire went through her and she pressed herself slightly against him. Yes, lets go to our den. she said, walking by his side as they returned to his- now their- den. She could tell he was losing the fight with controling himself, and it was simply too demanding for her to control her own desires as well, so she wrapped her wing over him, licking down his throat to his chest and belly. ~ Finn smiled slightly at her and walked in, lying down facing the sunset by her side, but not too close so as not to worry her. Again, thanks for the hospitality.. Where I come from, no one would be this nice. I wouldn't myself, I suppose, but that's because all of them would sooner cut your throat than be polite guests. he told her, slightly more cheerful with her bright comments. She really did look beautiful now in the lilac light, her scales shining with health and luster. I'll stay... And your name's much nicer than mine. it suits you. he said and lay his hand on his paws, looking out into the sky that was ablaze with colors. Some view. |

Alara looked at the sun as it dipped lower into the trees. She was dazzled by its beauty, but she didn't take her attention off Finn, for she thought that he would feel unwelcome in this new place, especially with what happened with Aries. But his mind seemed to change, as his body language told. When he said how the people in his past didn't have much of good hospitality, she snuggled deeper into her paws. Her head reached over to his and she licked his cheek. Everything's better now. You can trust the dragons around here. We're not as...harmful as the dragons in your past, I guess. You can stay overnight if you need a place. She was glad that she had her first guest, and a handsome one at that. She couldn't wish for anything else at this moment, for she felt so safe with him. She wiggled closer to him, but not touching him yet. She didn't want to scare him or anything. As she settled her head back to her paws, she spoke. Well, I'm happy you're here. It's been pretty lonely for me, but of course, you probably won't be here for long. You've got a life to live. Sadness crept into Alara's heart, and she tried not to show it on her face. |

OOC: Sorry for taking so long! Finn could only smile at the ultra-friendly, young dragoness by his side as he tore his gaze from the awe-inspiring sunset and looked at her, her light blue scales tinted with purple, pink and gold from the fading light. She really was a sight to behold, and he couldn't but smile. I.. noticed.. he replied haltingly. Some of you seem really friendly, but others.. Not so much. he added, thinking of Zil'caron. Then again.. Can I blame him..? If someone was harassing, or appeared to be harassing, Aries.. I'd tear his throat out and play music with it.. he thought and sighed. When Alara offered him a place to stay, he was overcome. Do dragons this gentle and kind still exist..? he thought softly, his eyes softening as he looked at her. Her lick on his cheek had taken him by surprise and, carefully, he licked her back. I'd be honored and grateful if you could let me stay here the night.. I owe you indefinetely.. When she mentioned, however, that he would leave, he lay his head on his paws and looked forlornly and lost outside. I have nowhere to go.. I've only roamed all my life.. With Aries, I was happy.. When she wasn't there, I had a purpose; to find her and be together with her again.. Now.. She's happy again, but I'm not the source of it.. I have no real life to lead, Alara.. I'm alone, with no purpose. No one needs me, not even myself. |

When Finn had returned the lick, Alara blushed and gave him pretty eyes. His teal body had changed some color from the sunset, and she couldn't help but feel lost in his deep aray of handsomeness. It all made sense now at why he was here. Well, technically it didn't make sense to the common dragon, but Alara knew why he was here. To meet Alara and become friends. That was it. They were meant to meet and who knew what would come next. But his next words made her shake her head in frustration. He was needed in this world, no matter what he said. She couldn't make him feel upset any longer. It just tore at her insides in a vicious way. Alara hated to see other's pain and hear it in such ways. You need yourself to live. I know one person who would be angry if you had died. Aries is my friend, and she would be heart broken, even if she is with Zil. And I know I would be sad if anything happened to you. I guess I need you, Finn. Another friend couldn't hurt. With that, she nudged closer to him, and their wings touched. She gave him a side glance, still not wanting to scare him with her actions. But oh how he looked at her. It made Alara feel something inside her that she had never felt before in her life. |

Awesome post, Emz! Finn could only glance at her briefly, sighing. What's my life worth, anyway? No one would really miss me. Alara's so sweet, but she hardly knows me. She hardly knows what I've done.. He shuddered violently at that thought and five years of penitence came washing over him, the guilt of killing all those souls. Yes, he deserved death. No one would miss me if I died. he told Alara dully, unable to look her in the eyes. Aries would feel slightly sad, maybe, then carry on with her new mate.. And you.. You hardly know me, Alara.. You hardly know who I am.. What I've done in my life.. If anyone deserved death, it would be me. Even if he was in the deepest pits of folly, he was still incredibly thankful she was there with him, a shoulder to cry on, to set him straight. The fact that she was so gentle and kind ony made his guilt increase, but he forced himself to meet her eyes. He owed it to her. He could tell she was inching closer and, his eyes filled with fain, he touched his snout to hers. |

Alara could feel his guilt. It showed in his eyes, and she felt terrified for him. When he said that he deserved death, she shook her head, and when he shook violently, she nudged closer to him, trying to make him feel better. I don't want him to feel this way. But maybe he does have a point. I don't know what he's gone through and I barely know him...That sent her to thinking. She wasn't giving up on him this easily. But I'm going to learn about him, even if it takes my whole life. His snout touched hers and she licked him. Finn, what has happened that you're so guilty of? You can tell me and I won't tell anyone else. You can trust me. I don't care if I barely know you, but I can't take it when you feel bad. She gave his snout another lick and looked deeply into his eyes. Why was she being so nice to him? She didn't know anything at the moment, but it all felt right. |

Finn looked away, closing his eyes and resting his head on his paws. Just like so many years ago when he stared at his sisters' lifeless bodies, he felt the guilt and self-loathing wash over him like a tidal wave. Under normal circumstances, he would have never confided in Alara so soon, no matter how kind she was, but he already knew he planned to end his life. It didn't matter anymore. When I was younger, my mother was killed brutally.. he began explaining. My father had abandoned her, me and my two sisters and left long before, so we were alone.. I still don't know who killed her; I and the girls were away.. In her abscence, I had to care for them.. But I hated it.. They had always been the favorites, the cute little girls, and I abandoned them myself in a matter of weeks.. I spent some time roaming, then I met Ezril.. He was everything to me. We almost killed each other when we met, but then became a pair.. His philosophy was simple; kill those you meet and steal their resources so you don't have to work yourself.. And I... I.. I followed him. he said, shuddering violently again, feeling her soft side pressed against his. I don't know how many I killed so horribly.. It came to an end, though.. We killed four dragons, two male and two female, whom we had been trackin. But one of the- the females.. She was my sister.. I killed my own sister.. His voice broke and he barely kept in a sob, covering his triangular head with his paws. Even though I had injured her so.. She used her last energy to save my own worthless hide. he whispered, his whole, considerably large frame trembling. I changed after that, I really did.. Everyone was dead, and if it hadn't been for Brail, so would I. I spent days by her side before I left and for years, I've been changing myself.. Please, believe me! he suddenly said more loudly, desperately, looking up at her and meeting her eyes. His were filled with tears. Aries helped me so much.. She was everything to me.. One night, we were being tracked, so I left to take care of the problem.. I couldn't take her with me; she might have been hurt, or worse.. Then I could only search for her.. He took a deep, shuddering breath and exhaled slowly. My paws are stained with so much innocent blood, I was a fool to think anyone could forgive it.. I don't deserve to be with kind, loving dragons like you, like Aries.. I have to end it. he said desperately. |

I have to end it...I have to end it... Those same words wouldn't leave her train of thought. It took seconds for those words to sink in, and Alara grunted, shaking her head. She stood up quickly, and stood in front of him so she got his full attention. She crouched down, her snout inches from his. A slight breeze entered the den, but she ignored it. Finn, listen to me. You did that to survive, do you hear me? It's either that or die. That guy could have been evil, and he dragged you into his mess. He's got someone else to blame for something he did. She settled down but continued to look at him directly. That wasn't your fault. That dragon was evil, and he used you. You probably meant nothing to him. And maybe that was the only way for you to survive. It was either that or you starve to death. And as for your sisters, I bet you were scared. Trust me, I was scared too when I was young. I watched in pain as my guardian was killed. And he told me to run and never stop. I was a coward not to save him. I've been running my whole life. I'm not going to let you destroy your life for something so little. All of it isn't your fault, Finn. You must believe that. Get over that period of time and live. She licked the tip of his snout, hoping he would understand her words and take them to heart. She didn't want him to end. She wouldn't live with herself if he did. |

He just grunted as she tried to convince him otherwise, repeating the same things Aries had told him so many years ago. They had worked then, and he had done everything to change, but he didn't know if they would work now. He felt Alara lick his snout repeatedly and wearily licked hers back, forcing his light eyes to look into her gorgeous ones for a moment, before he pushed himself to his feet, his tail drooping. Even if he was evil, I was the one to join him.. I could have hunted, lived like a normal dragon, but no.. I had to kill to pass the time.. I enjoyed it, Alara! It was like our hobby! I've killed so much, taken so many innocent lives.. Taking a life is never, ever justified, do you hear me? he asked, his tone getting slightly more desparate and tired, tired of feeling the air push through his lungs, tired of his heart beating. Thank you for your hospitality, Alara.. It has meant so much to me.. he told her softly, licking her on the head and stepping past her, heading for the lip of her den, where he planned on throwing himself down to the roots of the huge tree. His head would holfully be crushed, his neck shattered. (OOC: You can stop him and he'll calm down. XD) |

Alara growled in frusteration when he stood up and went to the lip of the den. Her bright teeth shown and when he licked her warily before he got up, she could only feel the anger come up inside her. She was tired and she didn't want a guilty conscious if something bad was about to happen. But she got up and rushed over to him. He was about to jump, and she knew he wasn't about to have a fun dive. He was just about to jump when she bit down onto his tail and pulled him back. It was painful for her to do that to him, to cause him pain, but she wasn't going to have him die like that. Blood met her mouth and she pulled back more so he would be able to jump off. When he was back enough, she could see his tail was a mess. She hadn't realized how deep her teeth had gone in and the blood was already growing on her den floor. Concentrating, she healed his tail with extensive care as she had gone down right next to the nerve. She didn't want any long lived harm for him. Finally, all the cuts were healed and she summoned water out of the air to wash off the excess blood. She'd clean up her den later. Her main priority was Finn. After using the magic, she realized how tired she was and plopped onto the den floor. Finn, I'm so sorry about your tail. It was the only thing I could do to save you without you killing yourself. Just please, this will get better, I promise you. Give it time. You can't possibly think your past is like that all because of yourself. Just please don't do this. Her body was weak and she wasn't in the mood to argue. Her eyes looked pleadingly up at him. |

He was just about to dive when excruciating pain shot through his entire body, numbing his mind as he was slowly dragged backwards, away from the lip of the cave. He was trembling with the agony, and when Alara hit the nerve, he almost passed out. Weak and nauseous, he lay still as she healed and cleaned his tail, before flopping down on the floor, apparently exhausted. he lay panting hard near her, his eyes bloodshot from the pain, but he forced himself to crawl over to her, touched and puzzled by her actions. Why..? he asked her, curiosity eating at him, as well as affection for this tender dragoness. Why do you stop me..? What am I to you but a crazy stranger you happened to meet..? He didn't pause for her to answer though, but licked her cheek. Maybe Fate decided for us to meet.. Either way I... I'll take your advice.. I'm not ready to die, not yet.. And.. It would be the cowardly thing to do.. I'm so sorry for putting you in this position. he apologized profusely, licking her cheek again and lying down properly by her side. He was really growing to like this dragoness, and she fascinated him with her gentleness and strength. |

Alara could see that the pain had affected Finn greatly, and she tried to not to feel guilty about her actions. She had saved his butt and now he was safe. All she wanted was his word, and he said he would kill himself...yet. It was better than nothing and that was all she was probably going to get from him. Maybe he was stronger in mind than she thought, and it made her better to think that. I saved you because...it felt right. I'm not sure why, but you mean a lot to me right now, and probably from now on. I know we don't know each other very well, but that action has brought us closer together. She gestured to the both of them laying down beside each other. In fact, she liked this greatly for some reason, and she didn't want this moment to end. She laid her head onto his paws, and licking them as she did. It was a relaxing moment, and her likeness for him was growing, and it wasn't stopping. Her feelings were still foreign to her, but she knew they'd become like family to her soon. I just...feel so...right with you. Please, understand |

He licked her head as she set it on his paws, licking them just as he was doing to her soft scales, nuzzling them with his snout. I.. think I understand.. Yes, we're closer, for better or worse.. For now, this is something I've missed.. Lying together with a friend.. he told her, curious as to whether they were friends, or slightly more. He owed her his life, and he was forever grateful for that, but apart from that, she was just a wonderful person. I../. I think I like her.. he realized with a considerable amount of shock. For the moment, though, he was content, and he lay his head down next to hers. I feel right with you as well, Alara.. More so than I've felt for months.. I'm sorry if I made you at all uncomfortable. The effects of the pain were draining now, and he felt at utter peace. In his heart, he still felt depressed, but it was contained for now. |

Alara felt at utter peace with him right now, and nothing could change that when she was with him. He apologized if he was making her uncomfortable but she wasn't at all uncomfortable. She was the exact opposite and she was enjoying this moment to the extremes. Drowsiness was making her tired and she hadn't realized how late it was at the moment. The sun was dipping lower, and it was already below the trees, giving them barely any light. She didn't need any light as long as she was with Finn. A deep yearning was inside her heart. It was spring, and she would be fertile for eggs. Maybe...no, no, no. She couldn't think about Finn that way. She just hoped her wouldn't notice her muscles tense up like they were now. How could she think such thoughts about Finn? They barely knew each other. She tried to relax, but yet she couldn't. She was getting quite restless, and being tired didn't help. Finn, please distract me. |

As a matter of fact, he did notice her muscles tense and, smelling her sweet scent, could well imagine why. He felt his own muscles spasm as well, but shook his head to clear it. Shame, Finn! You barely know her.. She's so young, and innocent.. Would you really repay a young, kind heart like that? he challenged himself and tried to control himself. However, he couldn't. his head snaked down to her cheek and started licking her tenderly. Does this count as distraction..? he asked her, then forced himself to withdraw. Looking up, out of the cave opening, he stared for a moment, then nudged her shoulder. Look outside.. Isn't it beautiful? he asked her. Night had fallen by now, and the Evening Star was just visible, a beautiful light on the horizon, flanked by myriads of tiny stars. Almost as beautiful as you. |

Alara's restlessness grew, but then she felt something wet on her cheek. When she looked over to see Finn was licking her, she blushed but her nerves had relaxed greatly from his touch, and she sank deeper into his side. He told her to look outside, to which she did, and the sight was absolutely incredible. Never had she seen such a beatiful sight before, and it was even better since she was with someone, even Finn to who she was now considerably liking. Her liking for him was growing. He said the stars were almost as beautiful as her, and she looked at him with mild surprise. Never had anyone made such a comment for her. It warmed her heart to hear it from Finn, and she snuggled closer to him, no longer afraid to his touch. Drowsiness was making her tired, and her eyes half closed. Her head rested on his paws again. The yearning in her heart was stronger, but her actions were being controlled. I'm so glad you're here with me, Finn. You can stay as long as you like, and I wouldn't mind if you stayed forever. Her tongue licked his paws once more and she reached up to lick his chin. Then she realized what she was doing, and immediately sprang away. Oh, I'm so sorry Finn, I don't know what's coming over me, she said quickly, flustering over her words. Now she was afraid she had scared him with her actions, especially so early. Please forgive me, Finn... |

Finn was slipping deeper and deeper into a warm, hazy, loved kind of mood when she started licking him back, telling him he could stay forever. He purred some more at that, loving the feel of her tongue on his scales, but the next second he started; she had pulled back from his side, apparently distressed. What are you apologizing for..? he asked her softly, his voice soft and gentle. I have nothing to forgive, Alara.. Rest assured. Lie back down.. If someone needs to apologize, it would be me for intruding and being so liberal with you. he told her with a soft smile, serene and collected, the complete opposite of what he had been before. She had the most extraordinary calming effect on him. He felt utterly at peace with the world, but for one thing; he wanted her back by his side. Why don't you come back and lie down again..? he suggested hopefully, his eyes on hers, despite the darkness. He hated to see such a beautiful creature upset, and even more so if she was needlessly so. |

His question shocked her entirely. Maybe he did care for her like she did for him, even though they pretty much met. She felt very stupid for jumping away from him like that, and she could see his piercing eyes in the darkness. She was amazed at him, and he was much too great for her, much too great. She wasn't even sure if she deserved him to be here. But she took up on the offer, moving slowly over to him. When she was close enough, she snuggled up against him again, feeling his body heat against her scales. He was so handsome, even in the dark. She snuggled up closer, even when there was no where else to go. Sighing happily, she licked him once cheek before settling her head back on his paws. She closed her eyes, quite satisfied at her newly made and close friend. Drowsiness was dragging her in, and what better to fall asleep than with Finn? Hmm...I'm very, very happy you're here with me, Finn. I'm starting to really like you. Her words were true, and she wasn't scared anymore about anything. She was just happy he was here with her. In fact, she knew she loved him. |

Finn watched her silently as she gazed at him, her expression unreadle in the dark. Then, she came and took him up on his offer, snuggling up close to him as closely as she could. he snaked his head down to lick her graceful neck, feeling strangely happy for someone who had been dumped by the one he loved only hours ago. He thought he should feel terrible, but he felt pretty amazing. it was all down to her. He lay his head down next to hers on his paws, licking her cheek slowly and gently, smiling in the dark,. Her words added to the warm, fluttery feeling in his chest, which he hoped was happiness and not the foresigns of a dreadful desiese. I'm happy I'm with you, too, Alara.. So happy.. I never thought I could be happy like this if.. If I ever lost a mate, in any way.. But.. I am.. You make me that happy. he told her gently, feeling as if he were rambling, but he didn't care. He didn't feel embarassed with her, only content. However, drowsiness was dragging at him and his breathing slowed, his eyelids droopping closed slowly until he was fast asleep. |

OOC: Can I go to the next morning? If you wanted to stop the thread, just tell me and I'll edit the last bit out. IC:Alara felt more relaxed when he laid his head down next to her. This moment was truly amazing for her, and she was enjoying every moment of it. She made sure to keep the smell, the surroundings, and Finn's wonderful...everything. This memory would make her feel happy...or it would crush her if they were to be seperated. She just wished that he would stay with her. That would tear her insides apart, and she deeply loved him. Love seemed to move fast, and she actually didn't mind. Finn said that she made him happy, like really happy. Her muscles relaxed at his voice, and his touch sent shivers through her spine, but they were good shivers. It was minutes later before he was fast asleep, and she soon feel asleep, having happy dreams, and all of them included him and her, enjoying life together. ~~~ She woke up, feeling refreshed and excited for the new day. It took her a couple moments to realize where she was and who she was with. The memory came back to her and she wilted like a flower inside, feeling strangely happy. Finn was still asleep, and she didn't want to wake him. After all, he probably felt crushed from the day before after Aries, and she wanted him to get all the rest he could get. Slowly and careful not to wake him, she stood, ruffling her scales. Alara had forgotten about the beds on the far side, and just being plainly on the ground with leaves and brush wasn't exactly the most comfortable place to sleep. She hoped he wouldn't feel like she felt, so uncomfortable from the night's sleep. Walking over to the sunlight, the lip of the den, she let her wings loose, letting the sun warm them up. It felt so good, and she wondered how long the sun had been up. It looked to be almost noon, but she didn't mind sleeping in. Finn was with her, and she couldn't ask for anything more. Her eyes closed as she stood in the sunlight. A smile appeared on her face, and she couldn't get Finn out of her mind. He was just...amazing to be with. Her love for him was growing. |
