Ryka saw the hurt and want to help in Silvera's eyes along with unshed tears as she told that she felt bad about not being able to help, and that if it might just be Sil's inner alphess, she just wanted Ryka to be careful. Sil, you're a great Alphess, and you work your tail off helping and caring for others. You've more than earned the right to let someone else take care of you for once. Ryka lay a reassuring wing over Sil's back, trying to be as gentle as she could with Sil's wings. She listened as Sil continued on to say that there was nothing else that they could do tonight, may as well get some rest. Ryka nodded in agreement, and stood and moved over to give Sil more room should she want to stretch her wings as she slept. As Ryka was moving around, Sil reminded her that if she had to relieve herself, then she should do so off the edge of the cave, should she not be able to find the cave again. Ryka smiled at Sil, an idea starting to form in her mind. I think I've got an idea how to recognize the cave. Ryka settled herself, noticing that Sil had already fallen asleep. Although that idea will have to wait until tomorrow. Her eyelids grew heavy and slid shut, plunging her mind into sleep.

~(next morning)~

Ryka awoke to see a faint light filtering through the ice covering the cave's entrance. Confusion entered her mind; who had covered the entrance of her den with ice? The past night's events flooded her mind with the memory, erasing the confusion and bringing about a new feeling of fear at the recollection of the Beast. Ryka looked over at Sil, doubting that she was awake, before heading over to the cave wall by the entrance. She surveyed the stone the made the wall before taking her earth magic and beginning into it, trying to create an alcove shape. She planned to create an indent in the middle after making the alcove, leaving a ring of raised stone so to divide the indent into two equally deep circles, one in the middle of the other. Magic was quieter and more precise than her claws, even though it took a bit more energy. Ryka took another glance at Sil as she carved the alcove, hoping that her actions wouldn't wake Sil. If she could finish before Sil awoke, then Ryka could begin to hunt for the both of them without making Sil feel bad.

The constant burning and stinging pain that Silvera felt through her wings throughout the entire night made sleeping difficult. She was able to sleep okay, but the constant burning and stinging never let her fully get to sleep. finally she had awoke just enough during the night to put some ice on her wings with her own magic and it seemed to help. She cast the spell to allow the ice to seep into her body while she was sleeping and help keep the pain off of them, and it seemed to work.

As she slept throughout the night, everything seemed to get a bit better, or at least so she felt. She had drifted into a deep sleep, so deep that a puddle started to form around her without her even noticing as she lost control of herself through a dream that she was having at the time.

The next morning though, she was still fairly tired, and the aching in her wings was starting to return. she was alert enough to where she could feel pressure building inside of her as her bladder started had been filled past it's threshold. She knew she needed to relieve herself, but she had finally found a position to where her wings wouldn't hurt her as much as they have been. the heck with it, she thought to herself as she started to let herself go another puddle forming around her. This way Ryka doesn't have to worry about it if she forgets. Little did she know though that Ryka had already started on a different method of marking the cave.

It is kind of sad though... that my wings hurt enough to where I can't even leave the cave to relieve myself because I wouldn't be able to get back in. She said to herself again letting her thoughts run. Something she probably shouldn't do right now, but nothing was stopping her. She wanted Ryka to be safe, and she knew that she couldn't with her like this. Something stuck in her mind though. Something that Ryka told her last night, "you work your tail off helping and caring for others. You've more than earned the right to let someone else take care of you for once." Isn't that my responsibility though? to make sure that everyone is safe? she thought to herself, then relented. Well, if she wants to, then I supposed I should let her, it's not like I could change her mind anyways. She thought to herself with somewhat of a smile. Ryka would fit in perfectly in Juthivar. She was just like herself, and Silvera liked that.

Ryka turned as a shuffling noise caught her attention, temporarily stopping her work on the wall. Sil had woken up and was shifting her wings. Ryka noticed a puddle on the ground, but said nothing, instead just smiling at her friend. G'morning, Sil. Did your wings give you a lot of trouble sleeping? Ryka was pretty sure that she knew the answer to this question, but she hoped that Sil's wings wouldn't have bothered her too much. I can try to heal some of the aches if you want. The earth magic that Ryka had been using had taken a bit of her energy, but she still had enough to finish the wall work, relieve some of Sil's pain, and probably still hunt for the two of them. And if she didn't, then she could ask Sil to leave a portion of the cave's entrance iced over so she could find the cave again and could stop making the alcove.

Silvera opened up her eyes and looked towards Ryka when she told her good morning catching a small whiff of the odor she had just let out. Maybe inside the cave was a bad idea, she thought to herself as she listened to Ryka asked if her wings bothered her too much last night or if they let her sleep. Sleep? What is this sleep? she said jokingly showing that she did still have a sense of humor in the situation. I never did completely get to sleep until I put ice on my wings. It helped and then I managed to get some rest. And... sorry about the mess... I'll clean it up here in a bit. I had just found a comfortable position for my wings where they were hurting and I didn't want to move to disturb them. she told Ryka.

Ryka then asked about Silvera's wings and if she minded if she could use some of her healing magic on them. I would love that, I'll help with some of mine too, she told her sending some magic through her wings already. Upon answering her, Silvera noticed something. There was some kind of marking on the cave. What's that? was that there when we came in? I was too out of it to notice last night. Silvera inquired. If it was already there, she wondered what it meant. If it wasn't there last night, then she wondered if Ryka put it there or if someone else did... and if it was someone else... who? She didn't like the idea of possibly be being track by something other than the Jorthian as well as the beast.

(OOC: sorry for taking so long, got wrapped up in holiday stuff)
(IC:)
Ryka smiled at Sil's joke, glad that she had a sense of humor, despite the prior night's events and the pain that must be coursing through her wings. She listened as Sil continued to say that she didn't get any rest until she put ice on her wings. Some is better than none, I guess. When Sil apologized for the mess, Ryka just shook her head. No, no, it's fine, I'm just happy that you found a spot where your wings weren't trying to kill you. She nearly said that she would clean it up and that Sil didn't have to, but caught herself. She knew if she said that, then it'd end up like last night, with both of them insisting that they would clean it up. Ryka walked over to Sil, the fluid parting slightly around both their feet, a subconscious effect due to her water magic. The scent didn't bother her, not after some of the things she had been forced to smell in the care of Elder. Ryka lay one of her wings over Sil's and channeled her healing magic through it and into Sil's wings. She listened as Sil asked what the thing by the entrance was, and if it had been there before. Still continuing the flow of healing magic, Ryka smiled sheepishly. Um... well, that was my idea to mark the cave. It's something that humans supposedly use. Not sure how, but I didn't think any of the other caves would have something like that. the center holds a flame or an ember of some kind, and you put water in the ring around it, to reflect it somehow. Ryka gently kifted her wing off Sil's back as the magic finished it's work, hoping that it was enough. There, are your wings feeling any better?

When Ryka came over and place her wing over her and started healing her, Silvera greeter her herself with a nice friendly lick on the side of her neck and cheek. It wasn't much, but just a friendly reminder of how much she cared for her, like she did everyone in her clan. And she was now a part of her clan, and she would feel so anyways if she weren't Ryka was a close friend of hers, and she would be sickened if anything happened to her. Maybe I am too soft, but I feel that being soft is a good thing, it allows me to understand everyone better, and see things from the good of others. When Ryka told her that she didn't mind the accident that she had intentionally caused, She just shook her head and told her she was more concerned and relieved about her finding a position where her wings weren't killing her. Silvera smiled, Ryka was as sweet as she as, and that was saying a lot, and she loved her a lot in a sisterly sort of way.

She then listened as Ryka started explaining the markings on the wall, and told her that she had learned that humans had supposedly used a method similar to remind them of where they were supposed to go. She explaining that there would something like a flame or water of the sort in it to reflect the sun so that they would know where to go. That is most interesting. I don't know much about humans to begin with as I've never seen one, but they are quite interesting creatures from the sound of it. she told Ryka.

And about the idea in general I must say it was clever, and a lot better than mine was... Course I didn't know what you did, and marking the cave with our scents was the only thing I knew to do at the time so, you're intelligence would be another reason why you would make a great Deltess as well she told her reassuring her that she knew that she could handle it, and was quite sure that she would love the position after a while. When she asked if her wings were feeling any better, she flexed them and found that at least for the moment, she could move them without pain. Yes, they are much better, she told her licking her again.

You have no idea how thankful I am that you are here and were at the lake last night. If you weren't, I would have been dead by now because there was no way I could have out flown that thing, not with my wings as they are. I just hope this isn't permanent... I couldn't bear to lose them, my wings are my life... I'd rather die than to live without being able to use them... she said starting to get down on herself worried now, that this pain won't ever go away, and that she could potentially lose her ability to use her wings completely at any time.

(Again, extremely sorry for the delay)

Ryka gave Sil a half smile when she said she had never seen a human. Trust me, it's often better to not see them. When Sil said the idea was clever and that it was much better than her own, Ryka shook her head slightly. She would've protested, but she could tell by Sil's pause and body language that she wanted to say something else. Ryka looked to the ground when Sil said that she hadn't known what Ryka had. The rest of Sil's words seemed slightly distant as Ryka's mind buzzed. She looked up when Sil mentioned that Ryka's intelligence would make her a great Deltess as well. She gave another half smile and chuckled lightly. It doesn't seem to be so much intelligence as facts and knowledge collected during many..... misspent years. Her eyes had flicked away from Sil's for the last two words, a odd mix of shame and pride filling her mind. She orced it away before she looked at Sil again. But thank you for thinking I'll be a good Deltess. Ryka listened again as Sil told Ryka how thankful she was that she had been at the lake, or else she would be dead. I owe you the same thanks. Had that beast come upon me without you, I would've just been sitting there frozen in panic, or foolishly attempting to fight it. Ryka lay her wings gently over Sil's, trying not to move them, for fear of making them hurt again. She nuzzled Sil's neck in an attempt to reassure her. I highly doubt that you will lose your wings. You said yourself that they are much better right now. That means that they've already begun to heal, or at least can retain the healing magic without undoing it. And if for any reason you were to lose your wings, I'll find a way to get you flying again.Even if I must give my own wings to do so. I've got pretty decent Earth magic, so I'll still be able to hunt. And it's not like I can't climb. Ryka would've loved to voice her thoughts to Sil, but knowing Sil, she'd always refuse that offer, regardless of circumstance. Ryka smiled at Sil again. I've heard of a type of wingless dragon that can still fly, so we could find one and ask how they do it. Heck, maybe we should go find one and ask once your wings are healed, just out of wonder.
